Tuning Into Your Amazing Body: Awaken
How would you describe your relationship with your body? Does the question itself cause you to recoil a bit inside? Or maybe you’d find your shoulders shrugging a bit as you think, “I guess it’s ok”?
What more would be possible in your life if you consciously enhanced the way you interact your body every day – the way you tune into it, listen to and support it just as it is? How might your communication with life improve?
“It’s important to realize that your body registers information from the environment and other beings all day long, changing your heart rate, breathing and posture in response to these stimuli regardless of whether you’re aware of it or not.”
~ Linda Kohanov, The Power of the Herd
Many of us secretly, or not so secretly, battle with our bodies. This is often true in very subtle ways, even for those who try to eat well and exercise. The key to shifting from battle to deep connection doesn’t lie so much in a particular diet, or even the latest exercise fad – it’s in a missing “ingredient” not found on any store shelf or organic garden.
It’s found through practices of cultivating attention. It’s found through deep listening. It’s found in creating – or recreating – a nature-based way of seeing our body. Something that most of us have been taught very little about in any depth. And, something that horses are highly attuned to and gifted at demonstrating.
This workshop with The Courage Herd, Nutritherapist, Michele Rheaume, and cultural Future Maker, Tina Turner (Michele and Tina are also FEEL® facilitators), is designed to take you on a wild and wonderful journey into the rich landscape of your body. The focus and practices we’ll explore are about just that, a journey into the incredible power of your body to gather and provide information.
In this session through a series of guided exercises with the horses and the land as well as with specially prepared food, we’ll help you EXPLORE and cultivate greater awareness of your relationship with your body temple. Forget diets or food guides – this session is about cultivating connection. And, it’s experiential, which means that the learning you do will be felt and made real to you directly and immediately. The horses are remarkable at facilitating these experiences in a way that is never planned or predictable and speaks uniquely to you!
As we start the journey of creating a more dynamic relationship with our body, we open up to EXPLORE the relationship we have today.
Many of us carry stories about our body that keep us from being in full relationship with it (I’m too ____, I just need to look at food and I ____, my body is always ____, etc.). Often these stories have been unconsciously given to us by others – friends, parents, partners, the media, even the medical profession (as advanced and important as it is).
By making these stories explicit and seeing the way they influence being in right relationship with our bodies, we can begin to see the patterns at play. We can see the ways, often the very subtle ways, we’ve shut down, numbed or dissociated with our bodies.
Through a series of gentle, safe and inviting practices with the power of the herd, nature and lovingly prepared food that sings the song of the earth and its majesty, you’ll be guided to explore the stories of body relationship you’re holding and watch as simply by becoming more conscious of them they begin to shift and change.
As “what is” becomes more visible, you’ll become more available to creating a new, more open and in tune relationship with our body.
Join us and reinvent your relationship with your body, transforming it from “vehicle” to a dynamic, flowing process of listening and receiving.
